Hobby Lobby to supply dozens of jobs

More details have been released on the new Hobby Lobby store coming to Ammon.

As we reported earlier this month, Hobby Lobby had registered with Bonneville County to build a store in the Sandcreek Commons shopping mall at the corner of Hitt and Sunnyside.

On Monday, a news release from developers Ball Ventures and Woodbury Corporation gave more information about the store.

The Ammon location will bring 35 to 50 jobs to the area. Full-time employees will make $15 per hour, and part-time workers will make $10 per hour.

The building will be 55,000 square feet and will open in the third quarter of 2015, according to the news release.

This isn’t the first time the Oklahoma City-based retailer has expanded into Idaho. It opened a store in Meridian in 2010, and a store in Nampa was scheduled to open Monday.

Right now, Zions Bank and Wendy’s are at Sandcreek Commons, and a building for D.L. Evans Bank is under construction.

Previously, Cabela’s announced plans for a store at the location. Broulim’s has filed with the county to build there as well, but the regional supermarket has not made any announcements about a new store.
