I-15 accident sends 4 to hospital

Four people were sent to the hospital late Sunday night from an accident on I-15 north of Chubbuck.

It happened two miles north of the Interstate 15/86 interchange at milepost 74 just before 10 p.m. Sunday.

Idaho State Police said Emily Thomas, 32, of Pocatello was driving southbound and struck the utility trailer being pulled by a pickup.

Both vehicles drove into the median. Thomas’ Pontiac Sunbird rolled and ejected her, police said.

Daniel Leavitt and his two juvenile passengers in the pickup were also taken to the hospital.

Their conditions were not given.

Police reported Thomas was not wearing a seatbelt. ISP also reported alcohol was involved in the crash.

Traffic was blocked for nearly an hour and a half while emergency crews cleared up the accident.
