Scott Peterson honored with award
Ririe High School senior Scott Peterson has been playing the cello since he was 5.
“I really like the way it sounds — just the things you can do with it,” Peterson said.
Peterson also plays trumpet, french horn and the fiddle, but cello is his favorite. Peterson tried out and made it into the elite Idaho Falls Youth Symphony. Since Ririe High School doesn’t have an orchestra, it gives him a chance to perform with one.
“I just like sharing music with other people, I guess, and letting other people enjoy it,” Peterson said.
Peterson is also involved in sports. He’s on the high school wrestling and cross country teams.
“I like being physically fit,” Peterson said. “I like competition and I like being part of a team.”
Peterson manages to get 3.9 GPA, while being involved in so many activities.
“I just enjoy so many different things,” Peterson said. “It broadens your horizons.”
