9th annual Bikers for Blood community blood drive

The Pocatello POW/MIA is holding the 9th annual POW/MIA Bikers for Blood community blood drive at the AmeriTel Inn’s Pebble Creek room Thursday, Dec. 11 from 1 to 7 p.m.

“It’s just a great way to give back to our community and, this time of year, to give the gift of life,” said Jennifer Bowen, coordinator of the blood drive. “It sure makes the world a better place.”

Appointments will occur every 15 minutes, and they will be able to take four or five people at a time. Bowen said the blood drive will also have a place to get some POW/MIA gifts, or you can even talk to Santa Claus.

Anyone involved, whether donating blood or time, is invited to breakfast at Jeri’s Jumbo Cafe, 3122 Pole Line Road at 9 a.m. Set up will begin at 11 a.m., and the last appointments will take place at 6:45 p.m.

To arrange an appointment, you can call Bowen at 208-681-3132 or Nicki Chopski at 208-339-0420.
