How to ditch the Christmas tree in Idaho Falls

If you live in Idaho Falls and want to take down that Christmas tree, here’s what to do with it.

Discarded Christmas trees can’t be placed with regular garbage. However, the city has set up 18 tree-collection sites.

These are for the use of Idaho Falls residents only – not for tree lots to get rid of extra inventory.

1. Washburn & Michael (Reinhart Park)
2. Grandview & Foote Drive
3. Coachman & Broadway (behind car wash)
4. Pancheri (west of Eagle Rock School)
5. Fremont Avenue (by recycling bin north of Science Center)
6. Mound & W. Elva Street (Melaleuca Field parking lot)
7. N. Water & Chestnut (northeast corner)
8. W. 13th& Placer
9. 10th& Emerson
10. 17th& Emerson
11. S. Boulevard & Rogers Street
12. Bennett & Waid
13. Cleveland & Fanning (southwest corner)
14. Sunnyside Park (by Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center –- southeast corner)
15. South of 1stStreet (west side of Meppen)
16. Sykes & Davidson
17. Ashment & 12thStreet
18. Russet & Lincoln

You should remove all ornaments and lights before getting rid of you tree. The trees will be chipped and turned into mulch, which will be available to residents in the spring.
