Local teacher makes learning fun for students
It’s American Education Week.
The point of this is to show the importance of giving every kid in America a quality public education, so in honor of that we’re taking a look at how local teachers are making a difference.
Carmen Manges teaches third grade at Rimrock Elementary and does what she can to make learning fun. She says students need to be excited to be in class before they can actually learn. She uses art, music and humor to keep the kids engaged.
“I really do believe that students ultimately learn when they’re happy to be here,” she said. “The excitement needs to come first before any of the learning.”
