One killed in motorcycle accident in Pocatello

Update 3/9/16: The Pocatello Police Department has released the name of the driver of a motorcycle that was killed in an accident Monday.

50-year-old Darrell Garza was driving a motorcycle on Yellowstone Avenue when he lost control and crashed. Police say he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Garza was transported to Portneuf Medical Center where he later died from traumatic head injuries.

Original story: The driver of a motorcycle died as the result of an accident on Yellowstone Avenue in Pocatello Monday evening.

According to the Pocatello Police Department, the driver of a motorcycle involved in a accident near the Mountain American Bank on Yellowstone Avenue has died.

Police reports say the motorcyclist was heading north on Yellowstone Avenue at about 8:40 p.m. when they lost control and crashed. Police say the driver died shortly after the accident.

At this time the name of the driver has not been released.
