Email scam circulating on how to become a Cruz delegate

Several people have been getting suspicious emails urging them to become a ted cruz delegate. That’s according to some local republican precinct committees.

Republican Chairman Dan Cravens says the email lacks official branding of the Ted Cruz campaign.

When you look through your emails, you may or may not have received it. But if you have, you may notice the front banner, the signature all don’t match that of the correct and consistent Cruz Campaign emails.

The email invites you to become Ted Cruz delegate at the National Republican Conference in July. It shows you all the steps on how to do it, but Dan Craven says this email may be from a person really trying to damage the Ted Cruz campaign.

“We don’t know who. I don’t know who. But someone is a lone wolf going out and doing this – reasons to us that are unknown at this point. We want to make very clear that this isn’t something that has been sanctioned by the state republican party, or any county republican committees. We’re very up front when we talk to people and try to recruit them as precinct people,” said Cravens.

At the moment republican leaders are looking into the email to find out who made it. If you have received that email, Cravens says to use caution and do not give into it.
