Happy Birthday: ISU turns 115 years old

In celebration of Idaho State University’s 115th anniversary, a Founder’s Day Celebration was held Friday at on the Hutchinson Quadrangle, near the Student Union Building.

After the clock tower played the ISU Fight Song, the 1901 Student Alumni Organization announced the 2016 class gift, the Bengal Eyes. After the announcement, a free community barbecue, history tour of campus and prize drawing was held.

“Well this is a start of a new tradition, that’s what 1901 is all about. We’re all about pride, tradition and history – connecting our students and alumni to the university. So this is us showing appreciation to the university that we love so much. That’s why we’re representing the class gift (tiger eyes). So this is just the start of what will become an annual tradition,” said Jessica Clements, President of the 1901 Student Alumni Organization.
