The 6th Annual Beer Fest bringing culture to town

If you’ve missed national beer day… It’s ok. You can always look forward to the annual Beer Fest in Old Town Pocatello. Which was held on Saturday in all its glory.

“I haven’t looked at the map yet. We just rolled up I’m going to get in there and see what we got,” said Aaron Floyd, who was out and about with friends tasting beers Saturday.

With over 14 locations, over 75 beers, in one small town, it added a little culture and diversity with the 6th Annual Gate City Beer Fest. It was a social party, as friends and family toured the beer tasting stations with endless beer flow.

“I tend to be in the mid to dark range I don’t like things that are overly hoppy. If there’s a good sour beer here, that’s where I would stay,” said Floyd.

Floyd made his 5th stop at Hooligan’s, and he and his friends had more stops on the way.

Trolleys and even limo rides arrived with a little style to the next brewery. Breweries were from all over the place.

“There’s a lot of people here, and the weather turned out better than we thought, so it’s a fun day,” said Elaine Tobias, one of the many volunteers working the Beer Fest.

Another fun, exciting spot on the beer fest map, was The Bridge. Which provided a lot more elbow room for more people. With live music and happy people, securing quite the feel good Saturday.

“A lot of people like the dunkel beer. It’s a different one, it has banana and clovers overtones that people are finding interesting,” said Tobias.

Tickets were $25 per person at the door, sold at four different locations throughout beer fest spots.
