Oneida County Sheriff: 1978 cold case solved

Sheriff Jeff Semrad made the announcement Friday on the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office official Facebook page.

The case is regarding the deaths of Tina Anderson and Patricia Campbell, who disappeared from Alameda Park in Pocatello. Their remains were found three years later at an Oneida County gorge.

There have been no arrests made in the case yet and it still remains open.

In the post, Semrad said most of the evidence the sheriff’s office has is circumstantial. However, he feels it’s “very strong,” also citing a prosecutor from the Vidocq Society – a group that specializes in pro bono cold case work for law enforcement agencies – who said he would prosecute the case with the evidence collected.

Semrad said the case has been submitted to local prosecutors and the state’s attorney general office.
