Hoku plant could have new owner soon

JH Kelly, the construction firm that bought the Hoku plant in 2013, is in talks with a potential buyer for the plant. However, the company is tight-lipped as to who it could be.

The company has been exploring buyers in the U.S. and other countries. The Idaho State Journal reports Mark Fleischauer, JH Kelly’s senior vice president, could reveal the deal from April to June this year.

JH Kelly has been trying to find a new owner for the plant for years. Last year, it even started selling parts of the plant through private deals and limited auctions.

KIFI Local News 8 and KIDK Eyewitness has reached out to JH Kelly for comment, but didn’t hear back.
