ISU health fair back in town

Idaho State University has one of the largest health fairs in the region.

ISU kicked off its annual health fair Thursday, with a lot of people coming through to take advantage of the health services being offered.

The health fair offers screenings on height, weight and blood pressure. It also has balance checks and mental health capacity checks.

There are 75 booths from businesses and health organizations around the community.

The booths offer information on cancer, diabetes, health counseling, healthy eating, dental hygiene, and more.

The fair also offers a discount to do blood panel work where they can test things like coronary risk, hemoglobin levels and lipid profiles.

Steve Wright, the health fair coordinator, said it’s a great chance for people to find all their health needs in one place.

“It’s a really great benefit because our blood draws right now are very very deeply discounted and it helps a lot of people out at this price,” said Wright. “We also have the opportunity to just come in and get some tests done, some checks done that you might not normally have access to or really even think about.”

The health fair runs March 17 and 18 from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m.
