Idaho Falls man charged with aggravated DUI

A 19-year-old Idaho Falls man was arrested for aggravated driving under the influence and felony leaving the scene of an accident after his car sideswiped a parked vehicle and then crashed into a brick wall.

Idaho Falls Police say Marcus A. Armstrong was driving a 2005 Nissan Altima that crashed into the parked car in the 200 block of Hartert at around 2:40 a.m. Sunday.

According to reports, Armstrong and his 21-year-old passenger ran away from the crash before police arrived on the scene. They were later found attempting to hide at a residence in the 100 block of East 21st Street.

Police said Armstrong was found to have been under the influence of alcohol.
