Report: affordable housing project early and under budget
The final cost of Teton County, Wyoming’s Grove, Phase II affordable housing project totaled $6,437,975. Jackson/Teton County Affordable Housing Manager Stacy Stoker said the project came in under budget by $768,337.
In addition, Stoker said homeowners were able to close on their units and move in at the end of the summer, weeks ahead of schedule.
Teton County Board of Commissioners Vice-Chair Mark Newcomb commended Stoker and her team. “Workforce housing has been a challenge in Jackson Hole for decades,” said Newcomb. “There are no easy solutions, but it feels great when our efforts pay off, and we are able to see working families secure stable housing in the valley.”
Grove Phase II consists of 24 units that have a mix of employment restrictions. It is now fully occupied by 43 adults and 14 children. 32 adults and 17 children currently reside in Grove Phase I, which consists of 20 rental units.
In partnership with Habitat for Humanity, Grove Phase III began this fall. Habitat will add an additional 24 housing units by the end of 2021.
