Woman charged after threatening shop owner with a knife

A Pocatello woman was arrested at around 5:25 p.m. Tuesday following a disturbance at the Pit Stop at 1309 N. Arthur.

According to police, Christina Barbara Mitchell, 36, threatened the owner of the store with a knife. They said she brought the knife to within approximately one inch of the man because he had asked her to leave the property.

The business owner was not injured.

Mitchell left but was contacted by officers at Arthur and Greeley while still carrying the knife. Police said Mitchell refused to drop the knife at first, and even afterward, continued fighting with officers.

Mitchell was charged with resisting and obstructing and aggravated assault.
