Voting for the next “Extreme Huntress” continues

In July, Lindsay Christensen competed on the show “Extreme Huntress” in Hondo, Texas. During the competition, each girl received a judges score and a skills score in their hunting challenges. The contestants don’t know where they rank with those scores.

But the final phase of the competition is public voting.

Christensen is currently in the lead, with just over 2,300 votes. That’s nearly double the number of votes for second place.

She said November voting is even more important because it could gain a big upper hand for her if she wins this month.

“How they’ve divided out the voting points is half of it goes to cumulative total and the other half goes to whoever wins the most voting periods,” Christensen said. “So I won the first three months, or three voting periods. So this is the fourth month, so if I win this month, no one can win more voting periods than me so I’ll get the max points in that area.”

Christensen said when the girls left Texas, the judges told them the top three girls were so close in scores that it would likely come down to the voting to determine the winner.

Christensen said it’s been a lot of work, but she’s so close to the end she just wants to do everything she can to try and win.

She said she’s grateful for all the help and support the community has given her up to this point.

“It makes me feel like glad, happy, overwhelmed,” Christensen said. “But just to have the support from the community in something that means so much to me is just an awesome feeling so I’m really grateful for the overwhelming support that I’ve received.”

Christensen currently lives in Weston and she is the only competitor from Idaho. In fact, she’s one of only two Americans competing. Another competitor is from Montana and the remaining four women are all from Canada. So Christensen said being able to win the title for Idaho and to put it on the map would be great.

She said her time in Texas also gave her some goals for the future.

“I’ve always loved to travel but going there to the Triple 7 Ranch in Texas and seeing animals from like 90 different countries has really sparked my interest in learning about hunting and conservation in other countries so hopefully I’ll be able to do that.”

Christensen said she has booked a trip to Spain to hunt in the spring.

But in the meantime, she’s still got two months of work left to try and clinch the “Extreme Huntress” title.

The public can vote once a month through Jan. 5. Voting can be done on the Extreme Huntress website.

All of the latest episodes can also be found there. So far, 16 of the 26 episodes have aired. Christensen said they air every Monday.

The winner of “Extreme Huntress” will be announced Jan. 7 in Dallas.
