Man arrested for aggravated assault after pointing a gun at several people
Idaho Falls Police arrested a man Friday for aggravated assault after he pulled out a concealed weapon and pointed it at several people.
27-year-old James E. Anderson was arrested for aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, exhibition of a weapon and carrying a concealed weapon while under the influence. Anderson was booked into the Bonneville County Jail.
According to reports, officers responded to the 600 block of First Street around 11:39 p.m. for a report of a male pointing a gun, which he pulled from his waistband, at people and passing vehicles. Officers contacted Anderson, who was visibly intoxicated and a convicted felon, and taken into custody.
He was found in possession of a pellet type handgun.
