Update: Additional reward money offered for information about dead grizzly
Update: The Humane Society of the United States and Humane Society Wildlife Land Trust are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the illegal killing of a grizzly bear in East Idaho. This reward is in addition to a $5,000 reward offered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and a $1,000 reward from Citizens Against Poaching, bringing the total reward to $11,000.
Original Story: The Idaho Department of Fish & Game and the United States Fish & Wildlife Service is seeking information about the individual or individuals responsible for the death of a grizzly bear that was found dead in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest in Fremont County.
The bear died on or about October 21 near the Coyote Meadows Road.
A reward of $1,000 is being offered through the Idaho Citizens Against Poaching (CAP) hotline and an additional $5,000 is being offered by the United States Fish & Wildlife Service for information sufficient for a citation or warrant to be issued. The grizzly bear is still listed as a Threatened Species in Idaho and is still federally protected under the Endangered Species Act.
