Idaho Falls man arrested after threatening home owners with gun

Bonneville County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man early Thursday morning after he entered a home and threatened the owners with a gun.

At about 3 a.m. this morning deputies responded to a residence on 65th North for reports of a man inside a home threatening the owners with a gun. When deputies arrived they located 63-year-old Willis W. Mickelsen, of Idaho Falls, in his vehicle outside the residence.

Mickelsen had been living on the property and is associated with the owners of the resident. According to the reporting party, Mickelsen entered the home carrying a revolver while yelling and making threats. Deputies located the revolver in a nearby shed after following tracks in the snow left by Mickelsen.

After a brief investigation, Mickelson was placed under arrest and booked into the Bonneville County Jail for felony aggravated assault. None of the parties involved were injured and there were never any shots fired from the gun.
