Police confirm Guns-N-Gear shooting was self-inflicted

UPDATE: June 1, 12:20 p.m. The Idaho Falls Police Department confirmed the Guns-N-Gear shooting on May 31 was self-inflicted. Police say the woman was taken by ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center but cannot comment on her condition. The City isn’t releasing the woman’s name, and no other information will be released at this time. UPDATE: May 31, 2:50 p.m. Idaho Falls Police say officers are reviewing surveillance footage to determine whether or not the shooting was an accidental discharge. Police say the public is not in danger. Guns-N-Gear has been closed to the public. UPDATE: May 31, 2:20 p.m. Idaho Falls Police are investigating a shooting incident at Guns -N-Gear on Utah Avenue. Initial reports indicate a 29-year-old woman was shot in the head at around 1 p.m. Wednesday. The woman is being treated for her injuries at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. The extent of her injuries was not known at this time. Police said the gunshot was self-inflicted. Police are attempting to determine exactly how the incident happened.
