May was busy month at Yellowstone

May was the second busiest May on record at Yellowstone National Park. 419,627 people visited the park in May, down 5.6 percent from May of 2016. Park managers believe snow, which closed some roads in May, could have dampened visitor numbers. So far this year, the park has hosted 550,413 visits. That is down 7.3 percent from the same period in 2016, which was the highest visitation on record.
