Victor park renamed for long-time administrator

For the past 34 years, Craig Sherman has held a variety of positions with the city of Victor. He has served as city administrator, clerk, treasurer, planner, and public works director. Sherman was instrumental in bringing the Airport Subdivision into the city, which included 50 acres of park land. Coupled with development policies, the property became one of Victor’s first neighborhoods. The open space was named Pioneer Park when the winning name was pulled from a hat. But, as Sherman retires from city service, the Victor City Council passed a resolution Wednesday re-naming it Sherman Park. The resolution further stated that “Craig Sherman’s tenure at the City of Victor has over time served as a cornerstone and it is important to fully recognize the impact that he has had on the Victor community socially, economically, and recreationally.” The resolution further recognized Sherman’s contribution to the community and staff. The name change is effective immediately.
