Two arrested after high-speed chase

Two people were arrested after a high-speed chase that ended near Blackfoot Monday afternoon.

According to police a suspect stole merchandise from WalMart in Blackfoot around 3 p.m.

A deputy spotted the vehicle traveling northbound on Interstate 15 and attempted to pull it over.

The car continued north to Dad’s Truck Stop at Exit 113 and crossed onto Highway 91. The car then traveled south through county roads into Blackfoot at speeds hitting 100 miles-per-hour.

The chase ended at the intersection of Judicial and Rogers after the car drove over spike-strips that punctured the car’s right-side tires.

According to police, one suspect, identified as Wyatt Trip was wanted for a stabbing in Chubbuck last week. 20-year-old Emiliano Jose Saiz was arrested for grand theft charges.
