Pocatello to Send Porta Potty ‘Relief’ to Eclipse-Goers

One of the most crucial aspects to any event – a toilet. Although one of the most crucial, it also happened to be one of the last overlooked items on communities getting ready for the hundreds of thousands of people wanting to catch a glimpse at the Eclipse 2017 in August.

Four J’s Inc Portable Toilets office manager Mari Lowe said they’ve had orders as far north as Menan and Rexburg.

“By August, we won’t have anything left; they’ll all be gone,” Lowe said, as she walked toward the roughly 300 portable toilets on their lot.

Right now, Four J’s is the only portable toilet rental in Pocatello, and with 800 they already own, they have already sent roughly 500 out to construction sites across the state, including: American Falls, Aberdeen, Idaho Falls, Blackfoot, Lava, McCammon, and Soda Springs.”

Aside from this being a heavy construction period, the Eclipse will allow them to only send 90 units to help with the massive crowds near Rexburg.

“Obviously, that’s not enough. In fact, I could tell you right now there is nothing left in the state or even in Utah,” Lowe added.

She said, they felt so bad they couldn’t help out any more than they what they physically have on hand, they called manufacturing companies, asking if they could make more toilets for the event.

“That just won’t work, unfortunately, because by the time they sent us the number of toilets they need, the companies told us they couldn’t make them fast enough to have them here by August 21st.”
