Food For Friends giveaway Week 3
We want to announce our “Food for Friends” winner for Week 3. Dara Stuart is our winner this week from our website. She wins a $200 gift card from Albertsons. For every gift card it gives away on our website, Albertsons will match that same amount for a local family in need.
KIDK Eyewitness News 3 gave that gift card away Monday. With the help of a local crisis center, we found a single mom of three, we’ll call “Elizabeth.”
“Single mom. Hard-working mom. Three kids. Shuttling to and from everything and an elderly caregiver. What’s that like?” asked KIDK Eyewitness News 3 anchor Todd Kunz.
“I like to take care of people. I like to feel like I’m doing things for other people,” said Elizabeth.
“OK, here is what we’re going to do. We have teamed up with Albertsons and we are going to give you, on their behalf, a $200 grocery gift card from Albertsons to you,” said Kunz.
“Well, thank you so much,” said Elizabeth. “Thank you. It helps me out a lot, being a single mom. It’s been really tough, but you always look forward, but you know, don’t think about the bad things, just keep going on.”
“Keep on moving, you bet. You didn’t even know about that did you?” asked Kunz.
“No!” said Elizabeth.
