Food for Friends giveaway Week 4

We want to announce our “Food for Friends” winners for Week 4. Spencer Anderson is our winner this week from our website. He wins a $200 gift card from Albertsons. For every gift card it gives away on our website, Albertsons will match that same amount for a local family in need.

KIDK Eyewitness News 3 gave that gift card away Monday. With the help of the Blackfoot Food Pantry, we found Kelly. She is a single mom with foster children and she’s always taking in other foster children and any placement needed during emergency situations. She’s been a nurse for seven years. KIDK surprised her on her lunch break.

“And you’re always helping others?” asked KIDK Eyewitness News anchor Todd Kunz.

“Yes, I try to,” said Kelly.

“Why do you do that?” asked Kunz.

“I uh, it’s just me. It’s who I am. I just feel like I need to. Makes me feel good to give back,” said Kelly.

“OK. We want to feel good today and give back to you. Can we do that? We have teamed up with Albertsons and want to provide this. It is a $200 grocery gift card to Albertsons, for you!” said Kunz.

“Wow! That’s amazing! Thank you!” said Kelly.

“Just to help things stretch a little further,” said Kunz.

“OK. That’s great,” said Kelly.

“And for you to keep doing what you’re doing and helping out in the community,” added Kunz.

“Thank you. I appreciate that,” said Kelly.

“You had no idea this was happening?” asked Kunz.

“No, I didn’t. But I appreciate it. Thank you,” said Kelly.

“You bet,” said Kunz.

“That means a lot,” said Kelly.
