Chukars get one millionth fan

One fan got an exciting surprise at the Chukars game Monday night.

After 11 years at Melaleuca Field, the Chukars got their one millionth fan.

Holli Ritchie from Idaho Falls was the lucky winner. She won season tickets for next year, a Chukars jersey, and an autographed baseball and bat.

“I am so excited,” Ritchie said. “My family loves the Chukars. This is very exciting.”

The fans mean a lot to the Chukars. Without their support they wouldn’t even be here.

“The fans are everything,” Kevin Greene, Chukars General Manager, said. “Without the fans support that we get, and the corporate support that we get, we wouldn’t have baseball here.”

In return, the Chukars are a source of fun and entertainment for those in Idaho Falls.

“The crowds are really fun,” Ritchie said. “It’s a good environment. It’s a good place to take family to do something fun. So that’s why we love it.”

Nothing beats a baseball team and its fans.

“It’s a success story and we are really happy to be a part of it.”
