Jackson to allow snowmobile racing event
The Jackson town council has reversed an earlier decision and will allow a snowmobile racing event in the Wyoming ski resort town.
The council on Monday night overturned its decision to deny Snow King Mountain Resort a permit allowing them to host the AMSOIL International Series of Champions Snocross in early December.
The Jackson Hole News & Guide reports the council approved the permit on a 3-1 vote.
The council had originally denied the permit at its Sept. 5 meeting mainly because of late-night noise associated with the event.
However, the event’s promoter adjusted the schedule so that the two-day event ends earlier in the evening. In addition, alcohol sales will cease 30 minutes before the end of each day’s races and there will be no fireworks displays.
