Jackson “Y” design near complete
Jackson drivers are getting used to a new layout on the “Y” intersection.
The Wyoming Department of Transportation says two left turn lanes are now open onto Wyoming 22 at the intersection of US 26/89/191. Crews are nearing the completion of the interim design changes.
A free right turn onto Wyoming 22 has been closed. Buffalo Way is now a right-out only and the intersection is currently being re-striped and will be re-signed.
“It’s a big adjustment for people who having been using a single turn lane onto WYO 22 for decades,” said resident engineer Bob Hammond. “The new striping will help ease locals into not lining up in a single lane.”
A permanent signal structure should be in by mid-December and crews will be back to pave the intersection next spring.
