One injured after bus hits truck
The Idaho Falls Fire Department and Idaho Falls Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of Skyline Drive and Broadway in Idaho Falls for a report of a vehicle accident involving a school bus and a pick-up truck around 7:45 a.m. Saturday.
Witnesses stated the school bus ran a red light, struck the truck and then caught on fire.
Officials report five citizens extinguished the fire before firefighters arrived on scene.
The adult male driver of the pick-up truck was extracted from the truck, and an ambulance transported the driver to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
According to officials, there were children on the school bus, but there were no injuries reported.
The accident is under investigation.
