Community eats for a good cause at Shop With a Cop luncheon
Shop With a Cop events kick off this week and Bonneville County sheriff’s deputies were at Texas Roadhouse serving lunch Thursday.
This is the 24th year Texas Roadhouse has partnered with Bonneville County for this event. The restaurant isn’t usually open during the week for lunch, but it opens its doors for the luncheon.
“It shows that there is a ton of community support that cares about this event. The Civitans are a big help to us here, the Kiwanis Club has their meeting here. There’s been a few businesses here in town that have brought their employees in, groups of people here as well. Just a lot of great support for this event. It’s become a regular thing every year,” said Sgt. Bryan Lovell with the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office.
Proceeds go to the actual Shop With a Cop event, which will be Saturday, Dec. 9. It begins at the Eagles Lodge on Hemmert Avenue, right behind the Gun Shop, with breakfast at 6:30 a.m. At 7:30 a.m., cops and kids will load up in police cars for a ride to Target on 25th E. in Ammon. Santa will be there as well.
