Phone scam using Jefferson County phone number
A phone scam in Eastern Idaho is using the Jefferson County Probation phone number and creating some problems in the area.
Multiple people reported getting a phone call from a local number asking for their credit card information, and sometimes that call is using the Jefferson County Probation’s number.
“We never ask for or collect payment information over the phone,” Tammy Adkins, the Probation Office Director, said. “People should be aware that this is a scam, and that they should not give any personal information over the phone.”
The scam has been reported to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
