Eagle lands on Mariners pitcher

This may just be the most patriotic moment so far this year.

A bald eagle landing on an MLB pitcher during the national anthem after an American flag was unfurled on the field.

It happened Thursday during an elaborate pre-game ceremony at the Minnesota Twins’ home-opener against the Seattle Mariners.

The eagle was supposed to soar across the stadium, but then the big bird decided to drop in on Mariners starting pitcher James Paxton.

According to the Seattle Times, Paxton was stunned at first, but he kept his cool and the overall effect was actually pretty impressive.

The only thing that could have made it more American would have been a slice of apple pie.
