Bingham County man arrested for multiple charges of child sexual exploitation
A Bingham County man is facing multiple charges of sexual exploitation of a child.
David Oly McBride was in court Friday afternoon for an arraignment. During the arraignment, the charges and formal complaint was read, during which is stated that McBride had been found to be in possession of multiple pornographic and explicit images of young girls.
There was also a charge stemming from some sort of incident involving a female juvenile that was somehow related to McBride. That juvenile is also facing charges. Because it involves a minor, details were not given.
During talk of possible bail and the amount, it was mentioned by the prosecution that there were 800 or more added images that police were still having to investigate.
The judge said McBride had been given a risk assessment and scored a seven, which the judge said is considered high.
The judge set bail at $100,000.
McBride is charged with nine counts of felony child sexual exploitation and one misdemeanor count of disseminating material harmful to a minor.
McBride has a history of run-ins with the law, including convictions and citations for things like injury to a child, resisting and obstructing, and failure to appear. He also has a history of drug and alcohol use, including giving it to a minor.
McBride’s preliminary hearing is set for July 19.
