New park opens in Rexburg

Slides, swings, bikes and more. The new Park Street Park in Rexburg is a fun place for kids to play, and even get some experience on the road.

“You can ride also,” said Soiaya, who was playing at the park. “And you can even get gas. Not real gas though. And it tells you when to stop with the stop signs. And you can also swing.”

“I love that it’s shaped like a car,” said Eli, who was riding his bike around the park. “And that it has a lot of car things. And that it has a lot of slides and ones that aren’t really hot. And that it has cool swings. But, I wish it had a drinking fountain and a bathroom. “

The new park was just finished and there were already many kids enjoying it. It has a little something for everyone.

“This park is a really cool park to come and hang out at if you ever want to read a book,” said Aunikah, who was watching her siblings. “I think it’s great that they have a place that they can bike around. So, you can bring bikes around here. And it’s also fun that they have swings and a little obstacle course over there so they have other things to do.”

“It’s really fun,” said Brooklyn, who was there with her mom and siblings. “We get to go on the roads, pretend roads with stop signs and stuff. And there’s a little gas station you can play at and there’s fun swings. There’s lots of fun slides and obstacle courses.”

Overall, these kids love that they can ride their bikes down to the park and be kids.

“Because it’s fun,” said Josie, Brooklyn’s sister.

“We play on the swings and we gonna ride my bikes to the park to have fun,” said Elorra, Aunikah and Soiaya’s sister.

The park is located at the corner of Park Street and South 5th West Street.
