Goodwill plans huge giveaways for grand opening

Doors are almost open for Idaho Falls’ newest thrift store, Goodwill.

Located at 540 East 17th Street, in the old Hastings building, the new location offers area shoppers an additional spot to find affordable, gently used clothing and household items. The 21,560 square foot facility will have approximately 12,000 square feet of retail space, with the remaining space dedicated to donations processing and storage.

The grand opening will offer prizes. Giveaways and drawings for Goodwill gift cards including a hundred dollar gift card. Goodwill also has a giveaway where one person will win one free outfit a month for an entire year at the Idaho Falls location.

The store employees are really looking forward to tomorrow’s turn out.

“You have shelves that are full of items that have never been shopped, and that’s really the exciting part,” said Jason Asher, the director of retail product and logistics for Goodwill. “We expect people tomorrow to start lining up between 6:00 and 7:00 p.m. We probably have 200 to 300 people coming through within the first couple hours because they want to find those amazing deals.”

Store hours will be Monday-Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
