Red Flag Warning – Burn Bans Issued

The National Weather Service in Pocatello has issued a Red Flag Warning for Wednesday due to high fire danger.

A Red Flag Warning means there is a high potential for the start of a wildfire thanks to weather conditions and brush (fuel).

Fremont county has issued a burn ban. All open burning, including campfires, is prohibited during this time period.

The Central Fire District in Jefferson County has also issued a burn ban to its residents. “Central Fire District has issued a burn ban, effective immediately and continuing through 9:00 PM Wednesday, August 1st. Absolutely NO open burning will be permitted. Encircled fire pits and BBQ grills are allowed. The fire chiefs from Roberts and Hamer have extended the ban into their areas as well.”

Bonneville County Commissioners have issued a burn ban that will be in effect until Sept. 30th, 2018.

This affects the unincorporated areas of Bonneville County and prohibits burning of any kind with a few exceptions listed in the resolution HERE.
