Warm, Hazy, and a Chance of Thunderstorms

Scattered thunderstorms are expected today, and some could turn severe. The greatest threat is for the Southern and Eastern Highlands, as well as near Island Park. Though the threat is smaller, there is still a chance for T-Storms in the Snake River Plain as well. The wind will be an issue today and tomorrow, as we’ll see sustained winds near 20 mph across the region. With the winds and low RH values, fire weather concerns are very high today. Cooler and calmer weather is expected for the weekend.

Thursday: Windy in the afternoon, Partly cloudy with scattered thunderstorms. Highs in the low 90’s.

Tonight: Mostly clear with lows in the low 50’s.

Friday: Mostly sunny, windy, with highs into the upper 80’s and lower 90’s. A few thunderstorms into the mountains around Island Park, Jackson and the National Parks.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, breezy, with highs into the mid to upper 80’s.
