Correctional Center walkaway arrested
UPDATE 8/3/18: An inmate who walked away from a volunteer work crew in Pocatello on Monday is back in custody.
Destiny Elizabeth Stoops was arrested without incident at a Vernal, Utah hotel Friday afternoon.
Idaho Department of Correction Fugitive Recovery staff developed information to help locate Stoops and then coordinated with Vernal City Police to arrest the walkaway.
Stoops’ record includes convictions in Ada County for possession of a controlled substance, grand theft by possession and eluding a peace officer.

An inmate assigned to the Pocatello Women’s Correctional Center is missing.
The Idaho Department of Correction said Destiny Elizabeth Stoops, 21, walked away while volunteering in the community. She was last seen in the 800 block of South Second Avenue in Pocatello at around 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Stoops was eligible to be considered for parole on March 26, 2020. Her sentence would be complete on March 25, 2027.
She was convicted in Ada County for possession of a controlled substance, grand theft by possession and eluding a police officer.
Stoops is 5′ 1″ tall, weighs 150 pounds, and has a fair complexion.
