Center Street Underpass to close for a month
The Center Street Underpass will be closed starting Monday, August 6.
Crews will be repairing the façade on the east and west sides of the underpass, reconstructing the medians, upgrading the vehicle tunnel lights to light-emitting diodes and recoating the pedestrian railings.
During construction, all vehicle traffic will be detoured around the area. Crews will make every effort to accommodate pedestrian traffic; however, intermittent closures may be necessary.
Work is anticipated to wrap up Friday, September 7, but due to unforeseen circumstances, the work schedule may change.
