South Boulevard construction impacting businesses

It might start to seem like everywhere you drive in Idaho Falls there is construction going on.

A portion of South Boulevard is under construction as they work to put in a roundabout. There are several businesses in that area that say the construction is impacting their business. With construction going on it’s limiting parking and use of the sidewalk.

The owners of Snake River Solace say they’ve seen a difference especially since some of their customers have physical disabilities.

“A lot of them have disabled knees and stuff like that, hurt backs and stuff like that so it’s hard for them to get around here on a sidewalk that’s a construction zone,” says Ryan Thatcher, co-owner.

“We’ve seen a decrease in the other local businesses that are around here as well. A lot of us rely on foot traffic, there’s not a lot of parking on South Boulevard as it is,” says Cody Hellickson, co-owner.

They want customers to know that you can access their business and others in the area by parking on Corner Street where the YMCA is.
