Local restaurant closing its doors
Keefer’s Island Restaurant and Catering will be closing it’s doors August 5th, according to a Facebook post on the restaurant’s page.
The bar opens at 10 a.m., there will be complimentary appetizers and a limited menu.
The restaurant hosted and catered many events over the years. Staff and customers are sad to see it go
“You build relationships with your clients. We see them year after year, especially with fundraisers and non-profits. We have regulars that come into the bar and restaurant so for me personally, those relationships I’ve built is something I’ll cherish forever and take with me,” says Bill Gossett, Director of Operations.
“It’s a big disappointment because we love bill and we love how Bill has taken care of us with Keefer’s Island so it will be a big loss to our community. And me personally, you have to understand, they made this specialty meal for me that was this wild buffalo fillet cooked with this incredible sauce on that is so unique to the area and you can’t find it anywhere else. I won’t be able to find that anywhere else,” says Russell Johnson, a frequent customer.
The Shilo corporation will take over the restaurant. It may be closed for a few days as they transition. As for the future of Keefer’s Island, they say there is more to come.
