Power Outages reported in Jefferson and Bonneville Counties

UPDATE 8/6/18: Mountain Rocky Power reports all power has been restored.

UPDATE 8/5/18 5:50 P.M.: Mountain Rocky Power says that all power is back except for 137 customers.

The power company also says the power outage was not caused by poles being down, but three lines being down because of a bird mortality.

According to Mountain Rocky Power, a hawk landed on the lines and grounded it out, which caused a short in one of the transmissions.

UPDATE: 8/5/18 4:01 P.M.: All power outages in Jefferson County and the Osgood area should be restored before 7:00.

The cause was due to a loss of transmission and poles being down.

Rocky Mountain Power is investigating why the poles are down.

ORIGINAL STORY: Rocky Mountain Power is reporting five power outages in Jefferson County, and 3 in Bonneville County.

More than 3200 customers are affected by the outages.

Rocky Mountain Power is currently investigating all three outages.

An estimated restoration time has not been determined.
