Community Night Out tonight

Idaho Falls and Pocatello will host a “Community Night Out” Tuesday night.

The Idaho Falls Police Department is hosting the event at Civitan Park, at the intersection of Elva and Riverside Drive from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

In Pocatello, the National Night Out will be held at 1020 McKinley Avenue. As part of the event, the Gavin Buchanan Memorial Foundation will present the city police department four ballistic vests to protect the department’s police dogs.

Idaho Falls Police will host games, crafts, face painting, and neighborhood watch information. The event will feature the department’s unmanned aircraft system (drones), SWAT vehicle, Region 7 Bomb Squad, and the Citizen’s Watch Patrol.

Sparky the Dog will also be on hand at around 7:30 p.m. and kids who spot the Fire Department mascot could win free tickets to the Idaho Falls Fire Department’s “NIght Out at the Chukars” on August 22, while supplies last.
