Sheriff’s office: Man shot wife before attempted suicide
Authorities say a northwestern Wyoming man is suspected of killing his wife before attempting to take his own life.
The Powell Tribune reports 75-year-old Donna Klingbeil was found with a gunshot wound Sunday night at her home in the Wapiti area.
The Park County Sheriff’s Office says she was taken by helicopter to a Billings hospital where she later died. Authorities say 76-year-old Dennis Klingbeil was being treated at a Cody hospital.
Sheriff’s office spokesman Lance Mathess says his condition wasn’t known Monday but he is under guard by a deputy while charges are pending.
Park County Coroner Tim Power says an autopsy of Donna Klingbeil is planned for Tuesday.
