THOR Hammer Smash bumping-up the challenge

This year’s THOR Hammer Smash 10K obstacle race could be putting previous years’ challenges to shame.

The Pocatello Outdoor Recreation group is asking for participants’ opinions to rewrite some of the rules for the smash.

The group is thinking of whether or not this year contestants need to pulverize the cinder block or just be able to break it into three pieces, as was done in previous years.

However, this year, the hammer is now 80 pounds, which is significantly heavier than the formerly-wooden one used to be. Plus, the cinder blocks are larger than they were in the past.
