55th annual Shoshone-Bannock Festival kicks off today

In Fort Hall, thousands of people gathered to celebrate and honor the traditions of their tribes Thursday morning.

For the 55th year, the Shoshone-Bannock Festival has brought people together from all over the country and even brought in some international visitors.

Filled with food, dancing and even a rodeo, the event brings indigenous cultures together for a weekend of celebration.

Running through Sunday, the festival is a long-standing tradition with many of its attendees, some of who have been coming for their entire lives.
