Intermountain Gas prices headed down

Intermountain Gas Company wants to lower its prices by an overall average 10.2 percent or $24.5 million.

The proposal is part of the company’s annual Purchased Gas Cost Adjustment (PGA) application with the Idaho Public Utilities Commission. If approved it would take effect on October 1, 2018.

The request represents a decline in the price of natural gas that Intermountain Gas purchases on the wholesale market for its customers. The company’s earnings will not decrease because of the proposed change in prices and revenues.

If approved, residential customers using natural gas will see an average decrease of 10 percent, or $4.12 per month, based on average weather and usage. Commercial customers would see a decrease of 11.9 percent or $21.89 per month on average.
