Downtown Development looking for artists for mural project

More art is coming to downtown Idaho Falls. Downtown Development is partnering with the American Civil Liberties Union of Idaho to paint murals in alleyways.

In honor of ACLU of Idaho’s 25th anniversary, they picked three places in Idaho for the project.

The murals will focus on the history of ACLU which includes freedom of speech, women’s rights, and racial rights.

Participating artists will get $3,000. Downtown Development is excited to get the project going

“We’re excited to see it in motion. We do have some historic murals on the buildings from back in the day and those are going to remain but we will add in new murals that we will hopefully pull from our local artists to do and just really spice up downtown,” says Catherine Smith with Downtown Development.

If you are an artist and would like to apply here is the link.
